Memorial Headstones Vancouver, Funeral Headstones Vancouver, Headstones Installation for Vancouver

“MANY OF THE MEN AND WOMEN, LIKE MY FATHER, PREFERRED NOT TO SHARE THE HORRORS OF WAR WITH US”

I read the poem “Flanders Field” every year. Few people know this about Vancouver Memorial Headstones. It reminds me to never forget, always be grateful, and honor those who gave their lives for my way of life. On November 11, people in Canada get together to thank the people who died to protect our freedoms and those who helped countries fight for freedom and democracy.

MONUMENTS ALL OVER CANADA

Across the country, many memorials, historic sites, gardens, and cenotaphs have been built to honor the men and women who have served Canada in times of war, conflict, and peace. In fact, almost every community in Canada has a memorial where people gather at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month to pay their respects, give thanks, and lay poppies.

During our travels across the country, we have seen some memorials to the dead that were both unique and not so unique. We knew about some of the memorials, but not about others. We learned more about our soldiers, search and rescue, and police force from both well-known and less well-known stories. None of these jobs are easy, let alone well-liked.

2 MINUTES OF SILENCE

Celebrations of Remembrance Day vary across the country. Some of the events are video presentations, a parade of veterans, singing choirs, guest speakers, honor guards, 21-gun salutes, historical reenactments, bagpipes and drums, and the laying of poppies and wreaths. Every service should have two minutes of silence, which is pretty much a given.

7 CANADA REMEMBRANCE DAY MEMORIALS

Here are seven memorials in different parts of the country that caught our attention and that you might want to see when you travel. Don’t forget… You don’t have to wait until November 11 to honor those who have died. Tell us about any memorials you’d like us to know about.

Ottawa Ontario Canada has by far the most popular, well-known, and talked-about memorial in Canada. It is where all of Canada’s Remembrance Day ceremonies take place.  It is the only memorial where a soldier stands guard (please correct us if we’re wrong).

We didn’t expect to see this memorial along the main road near Mindemoya on Manitoulin Island. We didn’t expect it because it wasn’t on any online maps, but we still liked it. Today, there are 10 plaques that list the names of 130 people who died in the war. The memorial is at the point where Carnarvon Side-road #5 meets Highway 542.

Another Vancouver Memorial Headstones from Canada’s capital, Ottawa. This memorial is a beautiful way to remember what our First Nation people did for us during wartime. If you look closely, you can see that the memorial has a buffalo, a bear, a wolf, and an eagle built into it.

(4) “PARLIAMENT MEMORIAL” WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, CANADA Vancouver Memorial Headstones

This memorial cenotaph in Victoria Square, Downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba, is hard to miss. It is a tall monument that can be seen from many different streets. We thought it was really interesting that just down the same street, there was a statue of a B.C.A.T.P. Memorial Airman saluting the cenotaph. Very well done.

(5) “HALIFAX CITADEL NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE”
HALIFAX, N.S., AND CANADA

It is a historic site that has done a lot to protect the east coast of Canada. Fort George is the fortified top of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada’s Citadel Hill. A historical site is also a place where Canadians go to honor Remembrance Day. The fort is a big part of Halifax, and it’s a good way to remember the people who gave their lives to keep Canada strong, proud, and free. There are also displays and reenactments of Canadian battles from the past.

(6) “Vancouver Memorial Headstones” SUDBURY, ONTARIO, CANADA “Memorial Park” in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada

The whole park is a memorial, with a cenotaph, statues, gardens, and places to sit. The wall of names is very interesting. The wall of names looks very nice.

(7) “THE WASCANA PARK MEMORIAL”

DID YOU KNOW: “Canadian War Museum” Ottawa, Canada: During the month of November, the museum has a lot of events and displays that tell the story of Canadians during wartime. At exactly 11 a.m. EST on Remembrance Day, a beam of light shines through a single window in Memorial Hall and frames the headstone for Canada’s Unknown Soldier. more
