Cat5e cables: These are an enhanced version of Category 5 cables and can transmit data at speeds of up to 1 Gbps over 50 meters. You can expect maximum efficiency and impeccable signal integrity. Cat6 cables: Category 6 ethernet cables will transmit data at up to 10 Gbps over 50 meters and 1 Gbps over 100 meters. These cables are an ideal choice for both home and office networks. Cat6a cables: Augmented Category 6 cables support data transfer rates of up to 10 Gbps over 100 meters. Data transmission over Ethernet cables is ensured by using only bare copper conductors.

Cat7 cables: Category 7 ethernet cables have almost the same speed as the Cat6a cables is up to 10 Gbps over 100 meters. And the behavior of these cables toward internet speed is just like that of the cat6a cables.

Cat8 cables: Category 8 cables are the most advanced in the industry with a data transfer rate of up to a whopping 40,000 Gbps. However, this speed is only supported at 98 feet. These cables are ideal for data centers but not a viable solution for long-distance data transmission. 

How to improve internet speed on Ethernet cables?
